Serena and animals inseparable. A few iconic moments which will always be with myself.

Having the patience to get robins to feed out of her hand.

Virtually every day for 20 years cutting up loaves of bread and apples to feed the nightly visits of her beloved badgers.

Discovering Sheldrick Elephant orphanage in Kenya and actually being allowed to touch some of the orphans. Serena sponsored the babies and was in seventh heaven when being allowed behind the scenes to go into their stockades.

Whilst in Kenya. Two moments which stand out. First visiting a giraffe sanctuary. Visitors were allowed to buy food and feed direct. After a few hand feeding moments, that was not good enough for Serena. Camera at the ready I took photos of Serena putting pellets between her lips and photographed her feeding an adult giraffe lip to lip. People around were astonished. So she did it again and got a round of applause, even from the staff. Giraffes are very gentle.

At residential site in Kenya, wild animals are free to roam. Serena sat on a wooden bench in front of a tree. Animals were all around. Then from nowhere came a huge bull giraffe. Stood less than 15feet from here. He looked down, she looked up, I got my camera ready and took photos as this giant calmly ate whilst almost in touching distance of Serena.

All manner of creatures fascinated her. Be it the largest male elephant, the humble dung beetle or baby swallows nesting in a barn.
