Derek (known by many as Del), was the most special person. He sadly passed unexpectedly, following a series of health complications on 21st July, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Del was the life and soul always. He brightened every room he was in, no matter the situation, with his silliness, constant jokes, impressions and of course, mimicking every advert he could. Laughs were abundant when Del was around.

He radiated warmth and positivity, encouraging people to be content and be themselves. As someone who didn’t have the easiest start in life, he was a living example of what hard work and unconditional support for your family can achieve. He set a great example for his children and grandchildren, supporting them in their life choices however he could.

Del will be remembered for; his love of all sports (his knowledge of football was unmatched), spending hours in his garden, making it beautiful all year round and his adoration of wildlife. He would often speak of what he’d learned from the latest nature documentary, he loved to see places he had never been to and the creatures that lived there, wild and free.

This is our reason for choosing to give to WWF in his memory.
